Introducing two bold Barossa reds that will stand the test of time. Both hail from the old vines of Paradigm Vineyard in the Barossa Valley’s premium sub-region, Marananga.
Hand selecting only the best fruit
We source the best fruit to bring you a high quality wine for that year, no matter where we have to roam. And in 2018 we found some beautiful grapes from Paradigm Vineyard in the heart of Marananga in the Barossa Valley.
Introducing Chance Encounter Wines’ 2018 Barossa Shiraz. Marananga, single vineyard grapes are lauded for a reason and in 2018, we sourced a pure expression of this premium Barossa Valley sub-region.
This is a bold, full flavoured wine that is drinkable from the outset, but if you have patience, will reward over the next 15 years.
Born of Marananga's old vines
Our bold and beautiful Barossa reds in 2018 hail from the Paradigm Vineyard in Marananga, located north-west of Tanunda, and one of the most revered Barossa regions.
Consistently delivering high quality fruit, even in some of the toughest years, Marananga is a fertile microcosm with a wide variety of soil types, aspects and elevations.
The predominant soils of red-brown loams over red clay, amidst shattered ironstone and quartz, allow for Marananga's mineral richness. Combine this with the slightly more sheltered hills and valleys and Marananga's real strength comes into play - its ability to ripen fruit evenly, year in, year out.
Introducing Chance Encounter Wines’ 2018 Barossa Cabernet. Every now and then we source grapes that blow our mind and in 2018, it’s Cabernet from the rich black clay of a single vineyard in Marananga.
Often overlooked by its more famous brother Shiraz, this Cabernet will surprise and delight over the next 15 years (if you can wait that long).
